HP
in the region has seen a growth of 50 per cent
in imaging and printing, according to Amr
Hassan, Middle East Regional Manager of the
company.
Hassan told Emirates Business the company has
also been able to increase its market share by
12 percentage points, thus capturing over 80 per
cent of the market in mono lasers, colour laser
and ink jet printers.
He said one of its main strategies was to work
closely with partners and introduce new
products. "Allowing customers to better our
products and solutions is a major strategy of
ours. Also, we are introducing the latest
technologies and solutions in the market as we
see this as our responsibility as industry
leaders."
Hassan said the company was also focusing on
specialised customer needs. "For example, in the
Middle East, we have technical arena where we
rely on our printing solutions and a graphics
arena. Both of these are very successful."
According to Hassan, the Middle East is the
fastest-growing market worldwide and has not
seen any slowdown despite the global financial
crisis. "This means it needs a lot of commitment
from our global vendors as well as deployment of
the right resources and investments. We have
doubled our resources in the past three years."
HP Middle East unveiled its latest large format
printer yesterday at the Gitex. The DesignJet
Z3200, which has 12-ink printing system with
four layers of blacks, is designed for the
creative market, including professionals in
photography, graphic design, proofing and fine
arts.
Hassan said DesignJet Z3200 was an outcome of
the company's sincere investment in research and
development.
